Transfer options from London to Amersham
Chris S:
I'm staying with folks near Amersham prior to the Severn Across Audax on 3 May.
I'll be travelling down to London Liverpoo Street on the Friday - arriving about 18:30.
What does the the panel think I should do next? I could ride from there to Amersham I guess, though this would burn some precious beans I might need next day.
Presumably I can take the Metropolitan line to Amersham. How much of this line is it OK to take a bike on?
Or I could take the over ground to Amersham; from where?

You can take the bike all the way, most of that line is overground anyway.
Train to Amersham goes from Marylebone and would be faster as there are fewer stops.
Personally I'd cycle from Liverpoo St to Marylebone and get the train. 10 minutes quicker on the train.
Be careful to check for cycle restrictions (usually ok after 7pm).

Thanks GB. Just the job .

Def take the train from Marylebone
Chiltern Railways are OK with bikes, though check for engineering works!
