Is that a ban on fancy dress above?

I think it said "No stag nights, hen dos or large groups in fancy dress".

Don't rejoice too soon: the pub was open when I took the photo and I could see a large, fluffy, allergic-unfriendly cat on the bar.

I'm not sure about the exchange rate, but books and tea, what's not to like?

I think we have ranted/grumbled in the Pub about the issues that have originated signs like these...

Is that a square of bog roll carefully pasted on to the sign? Nice.

Reminds me of that good old graffito: "it's no use standing on the seat/the crabs in here can jump ten feet"  (wall of the Edinburgh University Union toilets, ca. 1966).

The "risque technologique" is that of being flattened by a shockwave and penetrated by low-flying bits of metal: there's a big munitions depot at less than a kilometre from the road.  It's been there for yonks but the sign only appeared this year.

Couldn't take a photo, but in my local primary school / polling station the election signage has been pinned on top of the Rules for a Happy Lunchtime, resulting in "Please put all rubbish in the parliamentary general election".
