Is it a proper Thursday today or a secondary type of Thursday, like a Tuesday perhaps? Because it's ten past eight and there's been no clapping.

Dunno. I think I remember clapping last week. Has it been officially stopped then? And why?

No clapping, the Sun/Wail must have ordered it.

I was out for a jog last night and wondered why a couple of people were on their balconies clapping - then realised it was 8pm, and they must not have got the memo!

Blimey! I always thought it had been suggested by a government minion; a sidekick of D*m*n*c C******s, probably. Pretty sure it didn't start as early as March here, either. I did like the window rainbows though.

Excuse me, I created this thread as a public information service so that people would know on a Thursday what day it was. I don’t want you lot cluttering it up with clapping nonsense.  >:(

Can we install a countdown to the next time it's Thursday?

I did like the window rainbows though.

I'm kind of hoping that children's art on display in windows is a thing that can stay...

Better still it could be isolated in a VM and forgotten about.

I saw a great one yesterday that was clearly not children's art. A quilted rainbow, quilt-sized, with the one word 'Hope' below.

I'd upload an image but my flickr account has space like flickr has vwls.

Children, bored students, people with art skills, they can all stay.

The corporate printed rainbow posters, not so much.  Mistake agents and their ilk have better ways of supporting key workers.

I've been taking pictures of rainbows as I spot them while out walking or cycling.
I might get round to collating them, or deal with them in a huge post lockdown epic facebook album splurge.

I feel the urge to introduce a new term to the lexicon

Today is Thursday Eve

I believe the world is now a better place for its introduction.

You know what's going to happen with that? It'll get contracted to Thursdeve. Over time this will become First Eve and taken to refer to the Biblical creation of mankind on the sixth day, which proves the week actually begins on Saturday, and therefore Thursday is actually on Tuesday. Which I think we knew all along.

On the other hand, it might become First Steve, which would be good to wind up those annoying fundamentalists who like to say "Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve".

No, it will become Für Steve, the title of a new classical music hit.
