Here's one guy that seems to have escaped the cull of 70s children's TV presenters
You are joking? Didn't you know that he murdered Finger mouse?

No idea where to find this these days but Brian Cant is on record as having said that unspeakable things were done to Hamble of the Play School toyset.
It's a reverse Elvis thing.

Just looked in at this thread and realised I don't belong here.

I'll bet Dez fed you that line.

But ;D

No, all my own work. But if I did unwittingly make a joke, I'm glad you all enjoyed it. Woooooosh!

Anyone else try to guess who would come up from inside the Musical Box?

Can you guess what is in it today?

A friend recently quipped on facebook that Rastamouse was ten times more likely to be stopped and searched than Fingermouse, to which I retorted that Fingermouse is ten times more likely to be nobbled by Operation Yewtree.

Spookily I was trying to explain Rastamouse to an American the other day (some convolution on the fact there's a Rasta tour bus in LA). I'd forgotten about Fingermouse, but that's very true. I'm very scared of the 1970s.

Loved the video.

I found myself trying to explain a flumpet the other day, while unable to use youtube.

As above, great video, thank you.

Pfft - we cut our teeth playing in toxic waste dumps and building sites whilst watching Why Don't You and Fingerbob.  Halcyon days.

I enjoyed that and also wondered about the tomato plant action.

What was a flumpet?  Something to do with the Flumps presumably?

I rarely watched that as it was my little sister's thing and I was therefore morally obliged to pretend to hate it (whilst secretly enjoying it even though I was 'too old for it' by then)

It's a wind instrument for Flumps.  Or was that a Flumpophone?

I took the tomato plant action to be marijuana farming. Not sure why, that's just what occurred to me.

As for the TV references, you guys should consider yourselves lucky: in my day it was Twizzle, Four Feather Falls, and Torchy the Battery Boy.

I liked the song though. A pal of mine suggested that there was a bit of Rufus Wainwright in the vocals, and I think I agree.
