Blonde mistake
« on: 15 August, 2008, 12:26:45 pm »
This week I ordered a new rear cog for my Langster - a 15t to give me a higher gear for my new commute and to make the descending a little less painful on the knees.  I have inadvertently ordered a 3/32 cog but should have got 1/16.  Can I get away with running it anyway, or should I order another?

Thanks,

AC

Yes, you will get away with it. Assuming you mean you have ordered a 3/32" instead of an 1/8" sprocket. the eighth chain will run on 3/32" sprockets.

That's what I was hoping.

Best to send it back - it'll be noisier with the wider chain, and won't last as long as a 1/8" sprocket.
