We're talking here about adults dressed in Lycra [...]

We all look bloody odd so we're just arguing about degrees really.

[...]

Best just to wrap up warm and keep moving so nobody notices any fashion faux-pas.

Nothing more weird in this country than over weight adult blokes dressed in football replica kits as they go about (including their business) IMHO!

Until this is seen as an oddity, I have no issue with Lycra, although I do object to black socks!  ;D

I was going to post something very similar. Fat blokes in tight football tops that have been designed for athletic performance is an irony too good to pass up.

Practical though, Pie filling, Curry Sauce, Lager and fag-ash washes out easily.

Also, I think they are 'easy care' polyester and don't need any irony.

Ankle length socks of any colour look shite regardless of what type of bicycle you're riding.

Unless you are a cheerleader.
It is simpler than it looks.

I saw a bloke in the local park the other day in a football top, white "football" shorts, long football type socks and what looked like football boots (no studs) which I thought was a bit funny to go out for a walk avec madame???

White socks get mucky brown...

That's why I wear mucky-brown socks.

I think if they are shorter black socks then they are okay, not the mid thigh ones that Anth has on.  More discreet is fine.  I don't like or wear white socks that high either.

I think we police that hill in Dorset - that is the Wiltshire Police - hope that clears that one up.

Is that a puddle, or sheep dip?

More of a small lake I'd say :P. I was lucky in that that one was "fresh", all too often I've ridden through stuff like that only to find the water in it had been festering there for a few days and was a bit... "peaky".

Cute! Nice one Frenchie. I remember you posting photos on acf of a newborn Gabrielle. A proper little girl now.

That is already 'wanting' to be like her Dad and make that transition from an average person to becoming a cyclist.  ;D

Has she got a bike yet?

She does have a trike* (still too large for her though!), her own helmet and loves it when we go shopping/wandering or simply commute by bike. I pick her up from school on at least a couple of nights a week and we usually have a fab' time, singing all the way! When the weather's nice or if mummy's going to be home "late"  O:-) we even extend the ride back "a bit"...

It is true that she now wants to imitate us; she likes to dress up with her mum's swimsuit, my cycling caps and helmet.

I hope you're going to teach her how to put her helmet on the right way round..?   ;)

I probably don't need to say this, but I really recommend Islabikes. Young Blah (was 2 about a month ago) loves his and is getting really quick on it. More in kidstuff.
