Is Gmaps Pedometer down?
« on: 14 May, 2009, 04:55:56 pm »
I can't get it to load this afternoon.  Which is a bugger because it's what I use to make .gpx files.

Is it working for you?  Are there any other good facilities I can use instead?

Bikely was painfully slow earlier on too - maybe some transatlantic cable problem?

bikely.com, bikeroutetoaster, or bikehike.co.uk all make gpx files. Work out the route with Google maps and then GMAPtoGPX also works.

bikely is hosted in the UK.

gmap-pedometer looks to be hosted somewhere in the northwest US (nearish Chicago).

Oh. Is it still being a bit unreliable generally since it joined up with Bikeradar? I must ensure I have all my routes stored locally as well as there. I'll add that to my list of stuff to think about from time to time and then not do it.
