Brilliant news.

"overhaul" it, or you can ride it.  (Jerome K Jerome)

1st quote for new bathroom arrived today. It was pretty much the same price as the one we had put in 5 years ago, before adding on the VAT. Still, 20% increase doesn't seem that bad. I am pleasantly surprised.
Though I need to have a word about the fact he's quoted 10m2 of tiling when there's only 6m linear of wall (not all of which I wanted tiling) and I only wanted it up to 1m high.  ::-)

GIT!

This is the correct canonical response however I believe it was missing a few tokens so I will add them here.

While the joiner was round I spoke to him about the bathroom. If I buy all the sanitaryware and furniture he reckons about £2k for labour (he said that was for a job which was a pain he just completed so worst case) which is less than half what the other bloke quoted so probably between 2 and 3 grand once we've added materials and the tiler.

I now have two bikes again. Met my sister for coffee, then went round to her house to reclaim my green bike from the cellar. Just in time, as they're putting it on the market (their house, not my bike – at least not now I've reclaimed it) and were "tidying up" for the photographer!

I think I mentioned here that I opened an old wallet and found €120. Probably left over since #1 son and I visited Paris in 2017.
Well, I'm off to that Ireland in August with Clwb Wisgi, so I thought I'd check.  Opened an old wallet, but the €120 wasn't there.  No, but a £20 note was:thumbsup:
Found the euro wallet in a different drawer.

Moral of the story.  Own lots of wallets. Stash them away in various drawers, the pixies will do the rest.

10.05 x-ray appointment at Warwick Hospital.
Arrive and check in at c.10.00.
Sit down and prepare to do Wordle.
30 seconds later, my name's called.
4 x-rays done and I'm on my way out by 10.07.
I flipping love the NHS.

Knowing where you used to reside that did occur to me as a possibility when I posted my comment  ;D    Last couple of times I've had to go to Warwick Hospital for check-ups I've gone on my bike - with lunch round the corner at The Cape pub

It's a shame that the Wild Boar doesn't do lunches any more. Much closer, though the view isn't anywhere near as good as the Cape's.
