Smells of plasterdust! Bathroom's not finished, but it's at a point I can live here and they can finish up this week. I can't decide what I want most - a nap or a bath.

You can do both: fall asleep in the bath!  :smug:

Got up this morning, didn't have a coughing fit, and measured my peak flow at 630l/min.  That's at the top end of my normal range.

Went out for a shorter than planned pootle with barakta this evening, to try out the results of my substitute-for-riding Streetmachine fettling (very successful), and see how she got on with creatively-positioned bar-ends on the bars of the folder (minimally successful).

I had a shower when I got back, and at some point during that my left ear decided to start working again (I've been randomly deaf in both ears since a nasty asthma attack on Tuesday).  Mono I can cope with - deaf on both sides was driving me bonkers.  I'm sure the right ear will catch up in a day or two.

I finished booking my holidays yesterday :-)

Did you get your accommodation booking problem sorted OK? What agency did you use?
Yes, checked the website on Friday morning and the week I wanted was visible again, and Ardennes Etape emailed today to say they've recieved my deposit, so all is well :) Just need to get the form off to Gite de la Blanche and we'll be sorted

Wierd- we're the same.
No1Daughter came June '08, No2Son May '09.

I never thought about a celebratory party... still, any excuse for cake!
Enjoy.

(You got any more on their way? I get No1Son after his exams are finished...)

That is fantastic news Clarion, and you do make a happy family!

Good news from me, I move into my work-time flat today! No more living in hotels and out of suitcases!!!

Oh that's great news.  Hotels just get dull.  Yeah, it'll be difficult in the flat away from the family, but at least it'll be your flat :)

Such great news for everyone

My migraine has disappeared and I am out of bed and making some sort of sense.  JC is teaching himself how to play the guitar and doing quite well....I may need ear defenders at some stage.

Cool.  TGL wants to learn bass guitar.  They just need a drummer, and they could make a band :-\

That's pretty good- mine rarely gets that high.
I had a shower when I got back, and at some point during that my left ear decided to start working again (I've been randomly deaf in both ears since a nasty asthma attack on Tuesday).

That happened to me this week after a pretty bad asthma attack last Tuesday- my right ear is also itching like mad and it hurts- horrendous tinnitus as well.  But the good news is- (provided I'm not actually having an athma attack) cycling seems to improve the general wheeziness I wake up with every day.

My migraine ...   JC is teaching himself how to play the guitar

Could there be a causal relationship here?

The volume has been turned down... at least for the moment.  He has grown his hair and it is now the same length as mine, I have been told not to use his hair products.  At almost 5ft 11" I think I've fed him far too well.  The migraine appeared right before a storm.

I found an old railway lamp in an antique market, stuck a 12v car headlight in it, wired it and mounted it on the front of my narrowboat. It looks absolutely brilliant and works like a dream. Most DIY things go pear shaped but this went like clockwork. Total satisfaction.

My new workplace has secure bike parking and a goodly proportion of cyclists (one of whom commutes on a tandem - solo).

It must be said that so far this looks like one of the few positives.
