I appear to be able to keep down fluids and am about to risk food again as I haven't actually kept anything digested since 1pm on Sunday.

Not yet, we're hoping the attempts at infection control which included me cleaning up all my own vomit, separate towels, lots of handwashing and so on have worked.  She's got a headache and feels cruddy but don't know if that is the same thing or not. Some of the ppl who got ill after me seem to just be "A bitcruddy TM" rather than full blown Armitage Shanks appreciation.

A feeling I know well, I collect my new Van Nicholas on Friday (subject to leave approval) and was planning to ride it home (30 miles) however I am worried that the weather may not be appropriate for the riding of a best bike.

We have been told this evening that Martha stood unaided today. I am sceptical of the definition of "stood". In my experience, the chubby kiddies tend to be the last to start moving around. She's not crawling yet.
My younger charge didn't crawl until he had been walking for several months...

I know that feeling.

What are you going to put on it?

Pictures when it's built up, please.

Ooooh! Definitely want to see piccies.

I'm not sure I'd get on with the SRAM gears, though. I've not tried the 'double tap' thingies, but it sounds a bit counter-intuitive. I love my Ergopower.  ;D

But you do get lower gears.

I'm in a good starting position of having no 'intuitive' since I have never ridden with drops and levers of any kind  ;D
The lower gears will be a Good Thing since I suck at climbing!

You could put it on a train to ours (it's only about 3 stops) and we could look after it till the weather is nicer ;).

I have been mulling over the idea for a while, and this evening I went to a rehearsal of the Southend Bach Choir. To my surprise I found myself singing second bass, which is a bit of a contrast to the last time I did any choral singing, when I was a tenor. That's what happens when your voice breaks at the age of 47.

The rehearsal was very well attended - I'm pretty sure it was the largest choir I've ever been part of - but the sad part is that my presence injected some much-needed youth into the organisation. I suppose people who work have such long hours these days that they haven't got time for mid-week socialising. The Big Society is still-born.

We are singing Elijah, for a performance in May. My sight reading wasn't too bad: I'd never even heard the piece until yesterday evening.

Elijah is nice and not too difficult.
I went to my old choir's concert at the weekend and they also seemed old...

And I prefer Adrian's, the final fall back is the train home again as that will by method of getting there but seems like the waste of an opportunity for a rare Friday ride..

You would, of course include in your care plan for the bicycle test rides to ensure that everything is working properly.  ;D

Sorry to disappoint Clarion, but one way or another that bike is coming home with me on Friday.  :D

Particularly now that Docsquid has supplied a ground anchor and chain to secure it in the garage.

Friends of mine have often pondering offering a 'first ding' service.  You know your precious is going to get a scratch, or a ding, or a scuff, eventually, and the agony of waiting for it is too much.  So pay us a fiver, and we'll take it away, and drop it for you.  Nothing too serious, just enough to stop you worrying about forgetting your kid gloves every time you take it out.
