Hard to believe he thinks he could only have an ok career on the road.

Clancy's been around for a long time and is a good roadman.

Like Chris Newton, he is near the top of the UK domestic road race scene, and is a great all rounder on the track, but hasn't the continetal experience of riders such as Geraint Thomas or Ben Swift.

He can be a star on the track, or a shmuck in the pro-peleton.
