It's actually an old tradition, Heather used to go to an impromptu performance of the Messiah at Paddington Station in the 1980s.

Hummers? He's not the Messiah - he's just a naughty boy.

It is very good - but is it just me, or is the whole flashmob thing a bit overexposed now?

What surpised (and disappointed) me was how few of the "audience" stood up in keeping with tradition.
Have you seen my blog? It has words. And pictures! http://ablogofallthingskathy.blogspot.com/

Probably have never heard of the tradition. I have two copies of the Messiah and love classical music but have never heard of standing up for it.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

I like http://www.youtube.com/v/wp_RHnQ-jgU&rel=1, because it's got the benefit of a nice big organ

Yes, there's plenty of rubbish, but still some good stuff around. Zipper's two links are good.
Some of the older original stuff is still good.

If you like that, you should try Surround me. I kind of got dragged round it this weekend. It's like a magical reverse flashmob.

It's 7 sound installations, in the heart of the City of London. It only takes place at weekends until 2nd Jan.
You get a map, traipse/cycle to the spot and then wait.

It's hard to explain, but I tried to explain it here

The artist Susan Phillipsz just won the Turner prize, and it's really rather magical. I guarantee you'll like it, but if you don't like it, you're a bit dead inside... ;D
