Carradice has been sold to $BIGCORP

I expect Brooks-style price increases if they're still made in Nelson, or offshoring to a Chinese sweatshop if not.

Looks like they've been bought by https://aquapac.net/about-2/ - I expect you're right that they'll start making things overseas, but it doesn't look like the worst option for a buyer

HK and I have over a dozen Carradice bags of various types. Several have come from much-missed friends and relatives. I think those bags will see us out, even if we keep riding past our eighties. Hopefully some of them will be similarly used by folk who miss us.

I doubt that the historic level of customer service will survive.

Hmm

The Chadwicks are retaining some shares and influence and at least aquapac are a british company.

Sold due to retirement, not finances.

Can't blame the Chadwicks for making their retirement a bit more comfortable.

I only have two Carradices but I reckon they'll see me out.

The most relevant products are offshored.

An interesting development.

Oddly enough I have just emailed Caradice about buying a spare part for my Bagman.  If past experience are anything to go by I'll get an email shortly from Margaret offering me the spare part for free despite my making it perfectly clear I'm happy to pay and this is not a warranty claim.  I hope Carradice don't change too much.

A large proportion of the range has been offshored for decades, it's there on the website, if the product page doesn't state "Made in Britain" it isn't.

It seems to have been sold to another company that manufactures stuff, and similar stuff, so we might be in for changes in production processes to integrate with their existing factories, but it's not like a venture capital outfit; they will (probably) be interested in the products and the manufacturing and the factory.
