Tagging video files

I'm looking for software to edit and retrieve meta data details for AVI files. There's a great piece of software called MetaX which does what I' m after but sadly it doesn't work with AVIs.

I.e. you feed it a file, it asks you if it's a Music Video/TV Show/Film, it takes the file name and searches IMDB and TagChimp, and gives you a choice of possibilities for the meta tags ie Title/Cover Image/Genre/Episode/Series/Date etc, you choose the closest match.

Basically, I got my a WD TV HD Media Player thingy and wanna use the media library properly. But it doesn't do AVIs cos it needs a QuickTime convertor, so I'm looking for something the same that does AVIs or can mass QT it.
