Without the cash to go 10 speed Campag all in one hit I was wondering what sort of hybrid systems people are finding successful. 9 and 19 speed, Shimano and Campag. I have a big box of bits, but doubt there are two bits from the same groupset. tell me what you are getting to wor

The CTC's Shimergo page (http://www.ctc.org.uk/desktopdefault.aspx?tabid=3946) is a good starting point. Veloce 10 Ergos with 105 9 derailleurs and a ShiftMate work brilliantly for me.

Now thats what I what I wanted to here. I can start with 10 speed ergos and stay with my 9 speed shimano cassette for a bit. got both make of mechs.

Certainly, although as I mentioned I am using a ShiftMate. Of course there are other methods. From what I can gather Campag 10 plus Shimano 9 is one of the easier combinations.

8 speed Shimano cassette and mech with 10 speed ergos works perfectly, I use it but I am not sure about 9 speed.

10 speed Campag shifters and 9 speed Shimano cassettes/mechs work OK for me too - no shiftmate or funny cable runs, but setting up is a little more fiddly to get it just right.
8 speed Shimano works perfectly - I only went to 9 because I'd left ordering a new chain and cassette too long before a big ride and they wouldn't arrive in time, so replaced the worn bits with new spares from the MTB box (I use large cassettes anyway for spinning up hills).
