Sunday: horrible cold grey day with a NE wind. Only halfway decent shot:

Also put together this gallery on Sunday: not exactly current pics but maybe of interest:

Been taking a few shots with the D610 around the office. My ancient 50/1.8 AF is doing sterling work as a standard lens at present, though I am looking forward to getting the replacement 24-85. Forgotten how nice shallow DoF was

Not today, but spent last week back in Hong Kong and China. A couple of shots that were better with modern tech and a mobile phone, than a proper camera.

Hong Kong Geopark, Hong Kong has basalt columns like Giant's causeway, which I finally got round to visiting.

Also went back to my home village, to visit my ancestral hall, it's basically my family meeting hall, and where we go for ancestor worship etc

I'm kind of dizzy after those Gerald. Can they be uploaded so the user pan around them at their own pace?
I love the architecture in the ancestral hall.

I've been hunting for quotes:

It's a 360 photo sphere, your mouse cursor should move and zoom etc.

Took some video at our training session today - hand held under normal room lighting with a 50/1.8 on the D610. ISO 6400 for much of it. Totally uncorrected, just a quick cut and shut. First video I have shot with it - very impressed but now have to get my skills up to match the camera.

iMovie is crap - it hasn't done the audio delete it claimed. Never mind - Youtube free tracks to the rescue.

Beautiful light this evening.

Stunning

It's quite nice if you lose the dark shadow areas left and right, about 1cm each side on an iPad screen.  They don't contribute anything to the shot.  Better in monochrome too IMHO.

Took a little walk in the local nature reserve around sunset, where the reeds were wet and just a little icy.

My attempts today were thwarted by delays so I couldn't make it to the cycle race.

Maybe I should do something in house.

these arent from today but i've just got round to processing them, so I guess it counts...  It was a fun day with a couple of models, stylist and makeup artiste all wanting something 'fairytale' for their books.  Not my normal sort of thing, it felt a bit like playing dress-up with too much pink, but it's all learning!!
