A new stove, Downmat sleeping mats, and a new sleeping bag for me.  With the insurance money for my dead Pompino.

Two little folding stools, end of stock and being sold off for £1 each.
A thingy for putting on the bottom of gas canisters to make them wider and more stable.
A self inflating mat going cheap in T K Maxx plus a bright pink Mini Maglite which will make excellent presents.

I don't know if all T K Maxx's stock similar things at the same time but there was quite a bit of camping gear in this one (Oldham).
Plenty of mats, sleeping bag liners, stuff sacks, dry bags, travel towels etc etc.

Spare tent pegs of the Hilleberg Y variety and a large version of the Exped pillow which I think is even better than the Ajungilak pillows that we already have.

I have a kelly kettle, 2.5pint variety. Now I need to work out some way of strapping it to outside of saddlebag (and hence take on Sat night ride, if I go).

2nd-hand swap for a gb hatchet.

Well, it was yesterday now. A 3/4 Alpkit sleeping mat. Packs so much smaller than my current old roll up self inflating one, and I couldn't feel my hip bone when lying on it.

Having seen the head torches on the ride last night, I'll be back at the stand again today....

A bivvy bag (jogler made me get it!), a spork, and a stuffsack from the Alpkit stand.

I nearly bought the titanium mug as well.

You won't regret the bivvy bag - I bought a Hunka XL (on account of being a fat bastard) a while ago and it's the absolute business. I'm still considering titanium mugs and the like ...

Three headtorches from Alpkit.  That looks like a good unit.
Getting there...

Alpkit seemed to have had a fair bit of our money, it was nice to see them back again.  I picked up a couple of stuff sacks and some Y pegs.  I was also tempted by a Ti mug to go with he Ti spork from the last time they were there.  I also bought the Ti folding chopsticks, as a present for someone who has everything, they are superbly ridiculous, though they said they'd sold well.

Just ordered a couple of replacement o-rings and a webbing strap for my Trangia, which were damaged during a weekend of progressive Trangia incompetence.

Top tip: If the valve on the trangia fuel bottle doesn't appear to be doing anything, especially if the contents have been warmed so as to be under some pressure, don't peer into the outlet with your remaing eye.

No, but some camper has got home (from Glasto I bet) and put their Quechua pop up tent for three people out in the street. It lay there for two hours so now we've picked it up - about £65 new. A light smattering of mud at the entrance otherwise perfect. Well, it won't fit in a pannier.... but otherwise...

Umm, I don't suppose it was out to air/dry out was it?

Which reminds me, I haven't had a chance to dry my tent after my camping trip as it's been mega windy, bet it stinks by now.

Nope, in its bag on the pavement, sitting in a location in that 'please can someone give this object a home' kind of way.

Not today, but over the weekend I acquired an Alpkit 3/4 mat, a headtorch (bought for me by MFWHTBAB) and a Ti Spork.

The only other places I bought anything were the saddlebag sale and the food wagons!

I managed to avoid any spending on camping (or indeed bike) STUFF, by simple virtue of taking two small people with me:
a) they got bored very quickly in the trade tents and needed to be taken elsewhere before inappropriate behaviour (or frivolous spending) could take place
b) we chose to buy said small people fish'n'chips from the van resulting in a significant slimming of the wallet
c) I indulged said smalls in a go on the bouncy castles, thus depleting to near-zero the contents of the wallet

Fair enough. To be fair I thought that'd be the case, was just a thought.
