Yes.  It's because of an income tax liability which I just incurred.

Just found a very good chilhood friend on Facebook; a really good friend I'd lost sight of. Non contempt with working successfully in a financial role it seems, he is studying archeology as a leisure (PhD), has made a bit of a name for himself on developing some fonts for an ancient writing, seems to travel the world to do sub-sea fouilles and has just come back from a trip In Lybia (Roman gold coin dig) and is planning his wedding.

Mrs B has just read an e-mail telling her that her new job will now (if she wants) be full-time, not part-time.

Two fingers to her old employer, who refused to allow her to cut her hours down & combine the two jobs. Right decision, to accept the new job despite it originally being offered as only three days a week.

My Woodrup
<<<----There somewhere

Has some wheels!

She's a fussy beast, wanting 126mmOLN, and I've struggled to find something decent, but I have a pair of Shimano 105 (OK, not 600s like I wanted, but hey) with Mavic MA3 rims and seven sprockets.

Sorry, did you say seven?  On a 126 hub?

Yeah.  I dunno either.  But there it is.  I shall have a 14 speed racer very soon :)

No, that little bag of assorted sprockets may still come in handy.  I do still have an unmade up 126 hub.  But this wheel came with seven.  One louder, you see. ;)

I just got my annual appraisal through & I'm rated 2+, which I'm told, entitles me to a bonus! It's my first one & the civil service has some very complex HR rules, so I'm not exactly sure what it means, but it'll do :)

I went to Tesco earlier & bought a bottle of whisky,  to numb the pain of a possible Tory victory.   This branch of Tesco keeps the empty cardboard containers on the shelves, when you pay at the checkout someone goes and gets the actual bottle for you.

I splashed out on a bottle of 12 yr old Highland Park at £28.  When I got it home and opened the cardboard tube there was a bottle of 18 yr old in there   That's usually upwards of £50 per bottle.  Their website doesn't list the 18 yr old at all.... I'm wondering if they've got a batch of 18 yr old by mistake... :P

Employer told that they can't unilaterally change terms and conditions

A bit of snooping about on my PC meant I could persuade it that there were some speakers attached, so I was able to watch a fillum (or part thereof) with TGL last night, as I applied some bar tape and other fettlesome care to my Woodrup :)
