Does that make rowan trees evil agents of the patriarchy?  In which case, shouldn't we burn them?   :demon:

I have just tested my blood pressure.

121 / 71, pulse 47.

That's not too bad for a fat old git!

My Gaggia Titanium coffee machine has arrived. I have unpacked it but now need to read the instructions to work out how to actually use it since I have never owned anything like it before. It may take me some time to work out how to best make coffee with it  :D

'Specially because he knows it won't be here in time for his birthday, because (since his mother is incompetent and didn't order it sooner) 'the people have to make it for me and that takes 4 weeks'.

Surprise!

When is the birthday?

That's going to be one happy small, I look forward to seeing him out and about on it.  How soon before he rides to Pock?

Given that he lives in York, and the typical state of the roads, I'll give it 5 minutes, tops.

I mustn't have had an enquiring mind. As a (nearly) 4 year old, I'm told that I once helped my Dad clean and paint (i.e. get in the way) a second hand bike he was "doing up". I never once twigged that this was the same bike I got for my birthday a month later. Perhaps that's because it was the last thing in the world I was ever expecting to get for my birthday, or perhaps it was cleaned up just a little too early in the year for me to be thinking about birthdays.

Too early in the year to think about birthdays? I got asked about when advent calendars were available yesterday!

hey - I was only 3 at the time. I hadn't quite got the hang of these things coming round at regular intervals. As my birthday is just after Christmas (so I got lots of combined Christmas / Birthday presents as a kid) it was always kind of confusing.

I used to get all the Christmas Annuals, reduced by 50% cos it was January  ;D
