A jolly Christmas challenge..?
« on: 21 December, 2011, 05:34:59 pm »
What do you reckon, or have we had enough?  ;)

Could say, post 1-3 photos with a Christmas/'seasonal' theme taken between e.g. 24 - 26 Dec. 11  Not necessarily for voting on, informal discussion perhaps?  Could limit it to 'around the house', or summat.

I don't see why not.  It will annoy Pancho, anyway  :demon:

I think that date range might be a bit narrow. Maybe extend to the end of December?

I'm up for it, definitely.  If we have to have twinkly fairly lights onna tree cluttering up the lliving room, at least I can use it to shoot some portraits with funky bauble-bokeh...

OK, how about 12 days of christmas - one photo a day from 25th for 12 days.

Tempting.  But I'm bound to screw up and miss one.

That said, I'm planning on a one-a-week project next year, so a short lived one-a-day competition might be a good discipline to get into...

Aren't we all. You don't have to do every one.. but it would be nice to get a theme through them all..

Not sure I'd manage something interesting for the whole period, but could have a go.  Re. theme - could be fairly relaxed if wanted, with a Christmas time angle, but if necesssary the connection being that images are taken over the 12 days.  e.g. Life in the 12 days of Christmas.. ?  What do people think?

One image per day per person. One thread per day. Any subject, just has to be taken between midnight and midnight local time on that day.

We could add a stipulation that the first day has the theme 1, the second the theme 2 etc. as in the infamous and much rewritten song.

Themes would limit entries in my opinion.
It is simpler than it looks.

I agree with Jaded.  Twelve pics and you enter every one if you can.

I suggest the following: at least one of your twelve (or how ever many you manage) must be Christmassy.  The person with the most daily wins gets the overall trophy.

Separate thread for each day? Voting when it is all over (as some pics may take a while to process. If I do LF ones then I'll probably have to schedule a trip to the dark room at work)

Where are we starting threads for submissions?
Is it a thread per day?

I don't think I can participate every day because of other commitments but I'll give it a go.

:)

There should be a thread for Christmas day but I didn't take any pictures yesterday so haven't started one.
