riding again
« on: 26 April, 2008, 11:41:58 am »
After 11 weeks of not being on the road I did a few miles yesterday

You may remember I broke my collar bone

It was great to be riding again

Some people have said that I might find hills difficult. There can be a strain on the neck/arms on a hill.  I haven't tried anything major yet but I managed a "stand on the pedals" hill on the single speed without any ill effects.  The lungs and legs are in good shape thanks to mr turbo

I broke my collar bone last april and had to have it plated ,the pain when riding has gradually decreased up to about 2 hours after this it starts to ache,I think this is mainly due to the cold as a ride yesterday had less effect than others earlier this year .Providing the bone has knitted just go with what your shoulder  and the physio lets you.Listen to your physio they seen to make a lot of sense to me.

Glad to hear that you are back on your bike.

When I snapped my collar bone, I was back on my bike after 3 weeks and have not felt anything since while cycling. Though feel sore when I sleep on it for a long periods of time.
Current mood: AARRRGGGGHHHHH !!! #bollockstobrexit

Latest news.  I have done the second 100km ride this week.  100km still feels a bit more tiring than it should but basically I can probably have a crack at randonneur distances next week

Great news!
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

Well done. 11 weeks is a long time for a collarbone to heal. I am sure you will be fine.
