BRM 1200+ medal
« on: 21 August, 2022, 08:48:28 pm »
Will it be possible to get a 1200+ BRM medal after finish of LEL 2022? As I remember we could get one after LEL 2013 and 2017, but I can't remember how.

you can apply for the brm 200, 300, 400, 600, 1000 and SR medals through the international representative of AUK, so I imagine the same process.

I didn't know there was a 1200+ medal as i thought BRM stopped at 1000

LEL is not an event run under BRM rules, but rather LRM rules, so it won't qualify for BRM 1200 medal. BRM finish at 1000 with the exception of PBP which is run in collaboration.

LRM does offer medals, however I am not sure if these are provided when the event provides its own medal.

Nowadays it is event-specific medal or generic LRM medal. LEL22 issued their own medals, so that is it.

Thanks for answers. And excuse. 1200+ is a LRM medal and not a BRM medal. Didn't know that it was event specific, but it is the fact.

Not entirely true. I spoke to LRM President on a recent ride and he said riders are allowed to have both, but it is up to the event organiser to order the LRM ones.

This is the first time it's even dawned on me that there is a LRM medal that a rider could order. I'll speak to M Le President and see what I can arrange.

2.2 All events of 1200 km or more to be submitted for homologation by the
President of RM will be accepted only if submitted by the RMR of the
country.
2.3 Homologation of event results by the President of LRM will be
chargeable to the relevant national association via the RMR according
to charges laid down by the GA and will include, if the organiser has
so requested, the cost of any LRM medals allocated.
2.4 LRM medals must be ordered by the organiser at the end of the
event. Exceptionally they may be ordered though the RMR.
