Entry criteria for LEL 2025

So I've just rejoined Audax UK after several years absence and received my copy of Arrivée 159. There is a bit on page 4 written by Caroline Fenton, MemSec, that says

LEL 2025 Places
Having put LEL 2022 behind us, we have started the eligibility list for places for 2025 - in order to be on the list you need to have been a member on 12th September 2022, renewed by 1st January 2023 and from now onwards will need to renew on time each year.

It's the 12th September 2022 date that is of concern, since I only joined last month. Does this mean I won't be able to ride LEL 2025? This would be a major disappointment, as the thought of doing it has been one of the major motivating factors in getting me riding again.

It means you're not guaranteed a place automatically, not that you won't get one.

In 2022 time anyone who wanted to ride got a place though I think in 2017 a small number might have missed out. It's not easy to estimate demand so far in advance.

Sorry to resurrect a thread but thought it was better than starting a new one and also apologies for the stupid question.

I am very keen to ride in 2025 and have been an audax member since 2021.  I understand the ballot is opening in November.  Do I need to register my interest in this round or do I wait for a later sign up slot to gain the audax uk entry?

Guaranteed entry if you’ve been an audax uk member since 2021. No need to enter ballot.

Not quite so simple, you also have to renew by Jan 1st each year (unless of course you have a multi year subscription). You can check whether you are currently on the list here https://www.audax.uk/news/lel-2025-guaranteed-entry-eligibility-list/. It will be updated again soon after 01/01/2024.

Just a quick reminder for any Audax UK members (who joined before 14/09/22) hoping to use their guaranteed entry for LEL 2025 - if your membership expires on 31/12/23 then you MUST RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP by 01/01/24. If you are having problems with the renewal process contact me (membership@audax.uk) asap - do NOT wait until mid January to complain that you could not renew online for some reason and that your number has been removed from the list!
