Quote from: Cav
En-route, in a very wet London, to BBC studios for a few TV & radio shows. Radio 4 (8:25), @BBCBreakfast (8:35), 5 Live (9:45)

He was pretty good on Today, having a go at the Box Hill spectating debacle and trying to explain that the Classics and Grand Tours are far more important than the Olympics.

He was on R4 earlier for a short chat and on BBC1 a bit later.

He's about to come on R5 to take listener calls......

Listening to him on R5 now. Great to hear a sportsman talking eloquently about what he does and not just churning out the formulaic PR lines.

Thanks for the tip-off bobb.
I thought he came across very well on BBC Breakfast.
Was it just co-incidence that the (female) presenter was wearing a green dress?
It's a bit weird, but actually quite wonderful.

Quite good on R5 so far. I wish the interviewer would stop asking him who he's riding for next year. He ain't gunna say!

Edit: The only clue he gave when (repeatedly) asked who he was riding for next year was that he kept saying "You don't know that I'm not staying where I am" So maybe he's staying put....

He did come across very well.

We'll know in a couple of weeks who he will be riding for - coincidentally that may tie in with HTC getting a new sponsor..

Do you mean Highroad getting a new sponsor? Are HTC renewing their deal? Or is that still not known? I thought Bob Stapleton was going to announce that during the tour?

I thought it sounded like he was starting to lose his patience with her. And then running his quote as a news item moments later was just moronic.
