I had one some years ago and only stuck that into the kerb a couple of times. A bit of practice will be needed.

An odd bit of advice to newbie tricyclists is to start with your hands crossed on the bars. The logic is that the need to concentrate steering about face overides the inclination to steer down the camber, and if you do start steering down it will actually be up!. If you try it do please let us know the outcome.

I found that riding with locked elbows helped me when first riding an upright solo trike, steering with my shoulders. It seemed to work but was tough on my arm muscles. That sort of advice is probably a waste of time for your tandem trike, given you have spent some time on a solo trike without too many dramas.

You will have to think about how much you need to lean out on faster corners though. The 'triangle of support' is quite narrow for the captain and much wider for the stoker. Tandem trikes have a slightly wider track than solos but captains can be restricted in how far they can lean out by the stoker's bars.

That fits with my experience of mucking about on Arabella's.  For some reason my brain decided that skiing was the metaphor it needed to make things go in the right direction (pushing down and out with the hand on the outside of the turn).  Presumably if tested further this would have worked until something happened to make me stop thinking about skiing, at which point the outcome would I expect be fairly similar to what happens when I actually try to ski.
