Watch it, he's after your nuts!

Ears aren't as tufty as the reds I've seen in the Lake District. Do they vary, or is that a Red with a crew cut?

They moult in the summer, and lose most of the ear tufts. The tufts become a lot more obvious over the winter.
They can also vary in colour quite a bit over the year, sometimes they look fairly grey.

Believe it or not that is an American Red Squirrel!

In this part of France there are many European Red Squirrels and they are not like that.  Many here are almost black, too.

Have also seen reds in NE Scotland and the Lake District.

I saw a red squirrel yesterday.

It was dead on the road  :'(
It is simpler than it looks.

I've got one in the freezer at work. (It was roadkill).

Believe it or not that is an American Red Squirrel!

Surely you noticed the tiny Colt Eagle .045 riding on its hip.

On holiday on Arran last week red squirrels were frequent visitors in the cottage garden.
