Walkabout on iPlayer.  Sixteen year old Jenny Agutter.  (haz moment, and then another one)

Ah, a childhood favourite. First saw it at an after school film club (along with others as varied as Soylent Green, 2001, All The president's Men, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid)

Fire Down Below. Starring Seven Seagulls.

Astonishingly brilliant.

I definitely don't remember her swimming in the lake so it definitely can't have made a lasting impression on a teenage boy.

I thought this may have been ironic...  ;)

went to see 'hunger games' last night. Mildly diverting nonsense with quite a lot of gory death for a 12A, but not sure I'll be queuing for the sequels.

Tintin. WAtched the 2D version on Apple TV. Lots of HD goodness.

Fun film, lots of laughs. However got a bit messy towards the end, I thought.

Pirates: An Adventure with Scientists. The latest Aardman animation. A kids' film with plenty into amuse the grown ups: one of the pirate crew had a Blue Peter badge.

We saw this on Saturday night, I thought it was excellent!

It got a  from Louis (5), Hannah (17) and Daddy (47) - which is a nice trick if you can pull it off.

Not gales of laughter, but easy fun.

Dr RJ, FirstBorn (8 ) and I were in stitches - very good.

The Crooked House.  A BBC release of 3 of their ghost stories broadcast in 2008.  Linking the tales is the evil infested Geap Manor.  Excellent.

I wish I'd watched this (again) instead of Das Boot, but they clashed and I hadn't seen DB, and I'd heard good things.

However it (or at least the directors cut I watched) was 4 hours long! And, frankly, it wasn't all that great. It was good, but I think One Flew beats it comfortably.

It's the only film that makes me want to reach into the screen and strangle someone. Agreed, superb film.

Anyone seen it?

Last night we finally got around to watching 'Roman Holiday' which we'd video'd about three yearsa go. Gregory Peck and 'introducing Audrey Hepburn', 1953. Quite good and as for the luminous Ms.Hepburn at her most youthful ...   :D

It would have a more upbeat ending if made today.
