I bought a Bordo Lite for touring, on the basis that it was an improvement (albeit I suspect mostly a psychological[1] one) to the security of the well-worn[2] Halfrauds cable lock I normally use as a cafe lock. The convenience of something that folds up neatly and can be stowed in a holder on the bike frame rather than having to rummage in a pannier seemed worthwhile, and it's a bit easier to handle than a self-coiling cable.
A friend has a proper Bordo, which they use in combination with one of docsquid's finest D-locks to secure a high-end e-bike. It seems like a much more substantial affair, and I suspect the weakness is going to be the lock mechanism itself.
I think they're a decent upgrade from a cable as a second lock or cafe/touring lock, but not a substitute for a sturdy D-lock. Points deducted, as usual, for being able to lock it without the key.
[1] The Bordo Lite passes for a Bordo unless you get up close and personal with it, at which point the similarities end. I wouldn't rate it against a large bolt-cutter or well-aimed lump-hammer, and the lock mechanism seems a bit cheap.
