A great actor, philanthropist, and not a bad racing driver either!

This isn't just a thousand to one shot. This is a professional blood sport. It can happen to you. And it can happen again.

Great as Doc Hudson in Cars. Lew Harper in The Drowning Pool and loads more.

Sad.

A great loss. Most actors will go unmissed by the general public, not so Paul Newman. And I liked his salad dressing!

My son knows him more by his salad dressing than his other work (which is something I know I shall have to rectify). In fact, in our house, the brand has become synonymous with the product, in a Hoover-stylee. Except that when my son was very young he misheard the name. And his mishearing stuck. So anyone who comes to my house for salad can expect to be asked if they want some "Poor Human" on their lettuce.

A great loss to the bottled condiments industry.

And his films weren't bad either.
