Yes please to 1] Baton and

                    2] Beer

I'll try not to incorporate The Baton into the ongoing DIY  ;D[Today=fixing fences and converting old shed debris into Useful Bits of Wood.... and firewood]

An early query about who's out this Wednesday evening (this in no way constitutes forward planning) to see if any other readers of this thread would like to take next care of the LEJoG relay baton?

OD handed the baton on to me at Dalham, Suffolk (125km in to our 200km Audax on Saturday)

It currently resides with me less than 1 mile away from Chez OD  ;D

This new baton stuff is news to me, it's not London, Edinburgh and Jaywick on the go is it  :o

Where's the shed photos Tomsk?

I need to be out on Wednesday evening.  Where shall we go?  Hands up who hasn't been to The Cats at Woodham Walter?  Or, I don't think we've been to The Hurdlemakers at Woodham Mortimer recently.

Chief,
In the unlikely event that your query is actually a serious one this thread will explain all  :P

I can't put my hand up but the last time we visited The Cats it had just closed so does that count?!  The Hurdlemakers works for me too, or just as another suggestion over this part of the county could be a visit to Heybridge Basin to show potential Christmas Campers around the venue for this year's bash.  All of which or a combination of these locations could be incorporated in to a mini tour of the area to give the baton a true taste of the area.
Maybe we could gather a number of yacf jersey wearers to give the baton a proper guard of honour  :D

A trip to the seaside sounds good , but then so does the Cats/Hurdlemakers etc...

If we go back to Heybridge at least they won't talk about us if there's more than the two of us again OD  :o

So what time do you want to depart then OD?  We can repeat our 35 mile route unless you fancy a longer ride?

Did that 30 miles include North Hill?

It did, and a completely gratuitous Market Hill.  This is the route we rode.  It was supposed to be 35 miles but I seem to recall that Tomsk joined us at Heybridge for a beer and led us on a slightly longer loop home to make it up to closer to 39 miles  :P

I don't think we showed Tomsk the campsite properly, just pointed in the general direction of it from the comfort of the pub.

OK, a return visit might be useful.

Cooooo eeeeee, Tomsk!  Are you there?  Do you fancy another trip to Heybridge Basin so we can take you round the back of the loo block and show you a campsite or would you like to go somewhere else?

And, is anyone else coming out???

Wowbagger took us to a viewpoint where we gained a vista of the North escarpment of The Mighty North Hill (TM) when we were in Essex.  We were in awe.

Then rode round it
Getting there...

No backbone, that's your problem.  I've heard rumours you are a granite hard northern bloke who has been galloping up hills since before you could walk  ;D

Yes, at last a location I can easily get to.  Count me in, just tell me when and where.

Right then, lets make it Heybridge Basin unless anyone has major objections.

Assuming an 7:30 departure from Witham I think we'll be at the Basin by 8:30 to 9pm.  Clearly we won't be taking the direct route, that would be boring.

Huggy, are you related to my Mother-in-Law?  She has an unhealthy obsession with camp site loo blocks as well.

I don't think so, it was just in mind that you could be observed more easily when returning from taking Tomsk round the back to show him the campsite
