We can swap Kings head with Woolpack Chelmsford for you?

That is very kind but I have another offsite on the 4th so won't be out - it's the time of year.

There's a lack of NE quadrant winter suitable pubs so none in the list.

Thanks for the forward planning.

Regarding the NE quadrant, shame the Crown at Messing was so uninviting - twice >:(

Since returning from French France I have been desperate to have a two wheeled adventure before returning to gainful employment which is now likely to be the 2nd December.  I have hatched a variety of plans, the most notable being Tan Hill, all of which  have been frustrated by REAL LIFE TM.  I am determined my latest, more modest plan, will actually happen and you're more than welcome to join me for some or all of the endeavor.  That said I'm happy to go it alone...

Dates: Wednesday 27th to Thursday 28th November
Route: CLICKY
Start time: 1100 hrs (ish) at Spa Road roundabout
Notable features: meander about, meet the MEMWNS crew at King's Head (Tollesbury), ride off into the night, bivvy somewhere, get the train home from Harwich on Thursday

Fred has had some mods and is very excited by the prospect of hitting the road for an adventure once again.

I might be tempted by Day 1 but perhaps not a bivvy at the moment...

Splendid!  I should have mentioned I plan to incorporate as much eating and drinking as possible. An audax it won’t be.

Sun Inn OK on a beer festival, but less so on a normal night (beer selection and price) but happy to include if you want to suggest a date that works for you.

PRCBMPS didn't pick it up because it tries to take advantage of the milder pre-xmas weather then progressively shorter rides as the weather might expect to be poorer.

I was going to spin along from work on my clown bike but as I am still working, I may just go home instead.

  Any thoughts about bivi locations - I hope somewhere along the coast for the sunrise? The Naze is a good spot, though it's about 35 miles on from Tollesbury. Near to Harwich for brekky ['spoons?] though.

24 hour facilities in Colchester? Domino's on the Hythe is open until 03:00, 24 hour McD's just off the A133 on the northern fringes of Clacton ...

Yes to all the above. My plan is not to have a plan and just see what occurs. Along with cold weather bivvy kit I shall be packing my orange trowel and lightweight brew kit so I’m ready for anything.

NW   20/11/19   Boars Head, Dunmow

What is the plan for bike parking? Looking at StreetView I'm not sure if there is a beer garden, and the bike parking in the adjacent car park might be a bit susceptible. Any local advice please?

For the brewers, I have 4 stoppered beer bottles left over from the summer that I am needing to off-load. 50p each, which is what I would get if I took them back to the brewery. I'm happy to carry on Wednesday.

I should have known, sets us off to a pub that's a 100km round trip and then ducks out by emigrating to Wales
