Garmin 800 deleting routes/courses.

I'm planning to ride the Eureka Perm tomorrow to keep my RRTY on course (yes, I'm cutting it fine).

Earlier on this evening, I checked the fucking Garmin and the route (I'd loaded it as a TCX from gpsies.com) was there.
After a fucking Garmin recorded ride around the block to check the bike, the TCX has now disappeared.

Any idea what's happened ?
I haven't.

I've just re-loaded the route and it's currently visible when I navigate to the "Courses" screen.

Needless to say, I'll be checking it in the morning before I set off but I'd welcome any thoughts on what's going/what I'm doing/wrong.

Not an 800 owner but AIUI any file loaded into the NewFiles folder gets deleted after the next bootup (having been converted into a Course hopefully).

The route that I'd loaded was in the "Courses" part of the menu and it loaded perfectly as far as I could tell eg it gave the correct distance to the start and the overview marked out on the display looked about right.
