What was your son's mathematical problem?
I don't think designing aero engines features in year 9

3n^2 - 7n + 6 ...?
It doesn’t matter where you start. Just start.

12 + 11n + 3n2I think

How is this quadratic function or polynomials math?[Edit: Beaten by Clarion]
Quote from: Frenchie on 15 September, 2009, 10:36:00 pmHow is this quadratic function or polynomials math?[Edit: Beaten by Clarion]Cos a quadratic is just an eqn with x2 in, innit
Doesn't seem to work.
Quote from: Frenchie on 15 September, 2009, 10:36:00 pm Doesn't seem to work.It does. It's the equation of a quadratic curve, and if you insert the discrete points n = 0, 1, 2 etc you get the series that Martin gave us.
the problem I have with all this is that it it just maths for maths sake; nobody is ever ever going to need this apart from maths teachers
