Cateye 3 LED to 5 LED conversion
« on: 17 October, 2008, 05:16:53 pm »
I know it's pretty obvious and easy, but I thought I'm make an instructable for it anyway. I upgraded the rear lights on my singlespeed and racer (both LD-130) as well as the front light on the racer (HL-130).

The PCB already has the circuitry for the two extra LEDs, they just aren't fitted. Ten minutes and the wave of a soldering iron later and they were.  8)

That's weird, why sell it like that?  Is there a 5-LED version on the market too?  (and are the 5 brighter than the 3, or are they all a bit dim?)
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

That's what I thought - I'm not aware of a 5LED version of that unit.

Aha.  I see.  Thanks.  A useful Instructable (for folks less cackhanded than myself). :)
