Up with the birds.  They are chirping their morning song down here in Surrey.

Hope he has a good day, filled with succulent sizzling sausages, a helpful wind nudging at his back and the sun shining on the road ahead.

In Warks at the moment. Heading for Ashby (Leics?) tonight.

The weather seems calmer today (says he from the warmth of his bed).

He was riding from Southam to Cubbington and suddenly thought ‘”Bloody hell this will take me to Birmingham!”
He took a 90 right.

Wonder if they'll give him a free jacket.

I see the plan. The best way in is round the north of Sutton Park, along Queslett Rd and Newton Rd to the West Bromwich dual carriageway.
Every other approach is stop-start mayhem. ( Or he will get mugged when they see all the electronics on his bike. )

I hope he doesn't stop to ask the way. Can he speak Yamyam?

Two Walsall lads were chatting at school. The one said to the other, “Wen fishin doan cut and cawt a big whale.”
“Yow cawt a big whale. Ow big wor it?”

“27 x 1 ¼”.

A leather shoot?    I say.

My interest was piqued, and then reality sunk in.

Will be keeping a close eye on the tracker later, as usually go out in the lanes south of Ashby on a Tuesday night anyway so might try and do a bit of Teethgrinder hunting while I'm out  ;D

Brooks are a sponsor - generous provision of saddles.

By the time he completes the year, it will just about have broken in.

I think it was HTFB who once said to me that after a couple of thousand miles of riding with it, a Brooks saddle moulds one's backside to its shape.

I wouldn't be surprised if they made a cycling tie cravat.

Just checked up on Steve's trajectory for the day. That Brum-evasion manoeuvre is impressive, reminiscent of a WW1 dogfight.

Looks like he's staying in the lanes to the south of Ashby, maybe I'll see him tonight

He did well to avoid the southern parts today. Driving from Swindon to Worcester there were some tremendous downpours but very localised. The fine folks at Brooks would have stayed dry.

Round and round and round we go.

Good loopage from Steve atm.

Yikes. A quick detour west to Ibstock and my sister could look after him for the night ;D

Not sure he'd survive the experience though.

Tracker has him at 171 miles atm. It's a long way back from there so a good tally is on the cards!

I don't think he's going back to MK tonight.  I think he's being hosted somewhere near the loopage.

ETA.  Ashby de la wosname.

The trackers generally don't cope all that well with tiny loops, so we'll have to wait for strava to have any idea how far he's been today.

Looks like weather relief soon on its way, as of Friday markedly milder and less windy; it was indeed quite bitter at time yesterday, even snow flurries here.
