200 miles and 3 gibbons yesterday.  What toponymic delights will Steve provide for us today?

A minor variation on my commute this morning and I managed to intercept Steve on the outskirts of Quorn. I managed a "Go Steve" in real life then he disappeared back into the mist. That has really made my day!

He is heading for Melton Mowbray. Fed up with sausages, perhaps?

Most disappopinted that by the time the tracker had updated he was already past the end of our road and disappearing into the frozen wastes of rural Leicestershire    :(

Was -2 and a bit slippery, but hopefully by now will be a bit more temperate.  Take care and..............................

Go Steve!!

I forget how cold it remains inland. We haven't had an air frost since 7th Feb.

Only 60 miles on the tracker at midday - has Steve had problems in the freezing fog?

Yes, well down on the usual 12 mph+.  Not much chance of a 200 mile day unless Steve keeps riding long past bedtime - oh, wait, he often does that anyway. ;)

I put this in the publicity post but to be sure to be sure.... why not here to  ::-)
I came second last year and had great fun in a transatlantic battle with Brian Toone, nice prizes too.

Steves Team should sign Teethgrinder up for this, I mean we can't have an American on top of that table can we, and Steve should end up with some nice merino kit for his epic miles  :P how many of those sub prizes could he win?

The Strava admin just need to register then add Steve to the Velobici group on Strava

current full leader board is here:

you'll need to join The Vélobici Bicycle club

meh - so Steve would have to sign up as a member of their club? That's not a competition, it is marketing.

Surely more publicity as other riders doing it will hunt down the guy who is trouncing them, if only one then offers support or a donation, worth the effort surely.

North- to north westerly at Peterborough. If steve turns for home at Peterborough he should have a tailwind most of the way to MK.

Won't be a really long day but maybe a decent 'easy' day.

He could get blown south of MK to Marsh Gibbon, three loops then home.   :D

You just register on their site - name & email address, that's it.
Aren't all these sorts of things marketing driven?  No different to the monthly Strava challenges (to either ensure you log all your rides with them or even buy the over-priced jerseys if you complete them)

Looks like Steve has opted for an early night.  He's bloody earned it.
Also it looks like he's fending for himself tonight as well, so probably needs a couple of extra hours faffing time.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.
