[HAMR] 7th April - Day 97
« on: 07 April, 2015, 06:57:29 am »
Back to work today after a break, with no sneaky looks at the tracker to see where Steve is heading.  No Gibbons.  No puns on other passing village names.  But soon this will all be a brief interlude in the great march of progress, even if that progress is tracker busting circuits of Milton Keynes Bowl with TG etching three lines in the tarmac getting ever deeper with every lap.
Eddington Numbers 130 (imperial), 182 (metric) 574 (furlongs)  114 (nautical miles)

Dez and I will be setting off to Marsh Gibbon in an hour or so. Gibbon that we have to charge the car en route, we have to allow about 3 hours for the trip. Pub lunch at Stratton Audley then into MG for the peals.

Wish I could be there.  I haven't heard real live bell-ringers for years. Missus & I once hung over a churchyard gate in Wales for half an hour, just listening.  When the French have a full peal they play bloody hymns on them.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

In a little village in Somerset my wife and I spotted to admire a church and ended up invited to join the bell ringers. We'd never rung before and it was kinda cool.
