Thank you, ESL. Short speech from Chirac (good innings)

and then good coverage of the centenary ride.

Thanks from me too, ESL.  PBP for once starting where it always should.

PBP for once starting where it always should.
The increased value to foreigners of a 'prologue', so they can start in the named city centre (in this case Paris; but in LEL's case London town/The Guidhall) is worth recognising. In 2017 this was stymied by Ride London, but in two years time Danial has it sorted:
From LEL Facebook
We've secured Guildhall Yard in the City of London, for a central London start . . for our earliest time slots,
The City is eerily quiet on Sunday mornings, so you should be able to ride out of town on empty roads,
. . . so some of this might change, but . . . we'll have some sort of central London start.
And the transit through Edinburgh to the Forth Road Bridge will tick the box the other end.

I don't think that PBP will ever have that level of patronage again. It's interesting to examine the factors that gave it that level of media interest, and to compare to it to the status it now has.

Yeah. 2023 in Étampes, anyone?
