Small packet post from the US is extremely slow. Tracking shows that the items spend much more time than usual moving between hubs in the States.

Thanks for that. I've been expecting something from the States for a while. I'll not write off the $150 just yet then.

My letter sized pack took a month.  Arrived a week ago.  Spent 2 weeks at O'Hare before moving to Fort Worth and then five days later it just arrived.  It only cost 5usd plus 15 postage so I didn't fret over it.

I got a Royal Mail text on Thursday and then another on Friday both telling me to expect a parcel on Saturday. The Thursday item arrived, the Friday one didn't. Tracker said it was still at a sorting office in, IIRC, York. It did arrive today along with another parcel I'd been expecting. It's not as good as normal but it's hardly fair to judge by the days immediately after a bank holiday. Besides, our postie is lovely and he knows my name. He also knows where I live!

Our mail was delivered at 19:00 hrs today, the postie was knackered and not yet finished.
He told us that his van was filled right up to the top at the beginning.

No letters/magazine delivery on Saturday contributes to this.

We're getting deliveries every three or four days. The Comic tends to arrive around Tuesday of the week after publication. Most other mail is taking 4 or 5 days to get to my bit of the Suffolk countryside.

Give it time - it won't be past its cell-by date.
The problem with ordering batteries online is the delivery charge.  I never give eBay sellers AAA, more like C or D.  And I'm sure most of them have been nicd from the back of a lorry.

ordered a book 29 April, haven't even had an email to say its on its way.  Bad seller, I think, not the post. Not responding to queries either.

Deliveries in HG postcode seem fine .
However ,a colleague living in Howden, which is DN (Doncaster ) didn't receive a bulk posted item at the same time as the rest of the team did.
After a 10 day wait, the office sent out another item for the same project and hey presto! the  two packages arrived on  the same day.

Well, the spokes arrived next day.  Oldest item still o/s is a couple of inner tubes bought 9 days ago.  Might be one of those Chinese sellers lying about being in the UK.

Sent soem stuff off early last week, Sunday or Monday, got a "where is it?" letter yesterday dated 7th.  It had arrived after that.

Some other stuff bought from a bonsai store arrived today, ordered 4th May arrived today so not bad at all. Very well packed indeed.

Variable, I think its more the sending end than receiving.  Today I got two similar small packets, one was ordered on Sunday so next day effectively, the other was ordered the previous Sunday.  Ebay orders posted first class might turn up next day or sit at the sending depot a week.  Chatting to our postie at the weekend he said that now parcels get delivered on Saturdays only and nothing else that day.  This fits with the 3 parcels he brought of varying transit time.  Apparently that's a diktat from manglement on high so could well be nationwide.

Post seems to have held up ok but the junk mail which had mostly stopped seems to have picked up again. Fast food outlets that I wouldn't touch with a barge pole, plastic bags for my spare clothes* and this morning something from an estate agent wanting to sell my house.

We have received no snail mail since about 1 May..

13.10 ETA I've heard something get posted. Will ask D to investigate.

It was the mail. Two very insignificant letters.
Still no graze box or watch battery.

17.00 15/05/2020.

No post today.
Still awaiting graze box and watch battery. I'm sure there's Other Stuff.

I don't think there are Saturday deliveries at present so that's another week over.

We had deliveries last Saturday. I think I might have heard there will be no letter deliveries on Saturdays, only parcels? Or could have been vice versa...

Some sort of courier (I didn't see who, I was distracted by knee pain and not falling down the stairs) delivered a new kettle from Amazon today, rather than Monday, as they claimed.

This is excellent news, as barakta's tea supply is back up to full capacity.

I saw the postman three times today. Once at our door and twice in various nearby streets!
