A review of rechargeable headlamps has been published at Trailnamebackstroke. It may be of interest.

That's a useful review thanks.

It probably doesn't fall into the "lightweight rechargeable" category the but Petzl Nao seems to be the favoured one for ultra-runners doing through the night type competition.

I was going to say "I've got a Fenix HM50" but mine's actually an HM23. I don't know the differences other than mine has the lens in the middle of the body not at one end. It seems really well made and easy to operate, both ergonomically and in terms of simple to understand modes. But I only got it just before lockdown so can't really say much about it.

Conspicuous by its absence is the tiny but astonishingly bright offering from Exposure.

At £150.00 I am not surprised. There is also the following statement

"The author has no commercial interest in these lights, all were purchased or borrowed, and there are no affiliate links."

So unless they could borrow one, I would suggest given the price it is not surprising that they are missing from the test.

Ah! I hadn't noticed that bit.
I can confirm that it is incredibly small / light and astonishingly bright.

No mention of the Petzl Swift RL - a cracking piece of kit.  Not cheap but worth the spend.

I have an alpkit headlamp which look identical to the Brila 580, the review is quite negative about it
this is a bit of a surprise to me, it seems a good lamp, i have used it a lot for winter running on tracks and trails. I have had motorbikes with less powerful lights
my first headlamp was one of those petzl things with the big flat battery, compared to that modern units are akin to witchcraft
