Bike supported Tarp Tent

Even though I'd seen it done elsewhere, it only dawned on me today that perhaps the best way to use the bike as a support is to turn it upside down It certainly saves the faff of running guy lines from the handlebars to use the bike the right way up. The other big advantage of upside down is that it's kinder to the tarp with only the tyres in contact with the fabric.

Less likely to wake up with chain marks all over you too.

Be careful though. If the tarp blows away in the night, leaving you lying there next to an upside down bike, someone will mount a rescue for the crashed cyclist ::-)

Suggest a look at @cal_james95 on teh Twitters.  He does masses of UK bikepacking and has recently posted a number of interesting pics using a tarp and bike, or a wheel from the bike + dry stone wall etc.

The big advantage of using the bike as part of the rig is that if someone tries to thieve it in the night you'll definitely notice...

I like it , what dimension is the tarp?
It's a 3mx3m tarp from Lomo.  https://www.lomo.co.uk/acatalog/3x3-tarp.html

I used it recently on a South coast tour and it worked brilliantly!
