Makes sense given the burgeoning numbers of hire bike schemes in cities. Though I suspect that folk here will not be a prime market, and I have no plans to give up my own Brompton any time soon.

As long as it doesn't lead to design changes to make taking Bromptons to bits, and therefore home servicing, more difficult, which I suspect happens with hire bikes.

Agree with drossall.

Didn't islabike do something similar?

There would be no maintenance would there...no need to store yourself.

Wonder what happens if the bike is nicked.

Isla bikes are working on a circular chain so bikes are sols/leased and returned when our grown and with parts that can be fixed/recycled. Last time I looked they had prototype bikes out with people near to their offices but don't think it's gone properly live yet

TBF it's semi like that with isla bikes already due to the quality and price both being high they're either sold on or work their way round in family or friend groups
