Unifi Wireless Access Points End of Life -> What now?

I rely on two Unifi UAPs for WiFi. Any new versons of the Unifi Controller after 2021-03-01 won't be able to configure them because they Ubiquiti have decided they're old and EOLed them.

Four possible options, in no particular order:

  • Don't upgrade the Unifi Controller*
  • Flash DD-WRT on the Unifi UAPs and manage them individually
  • Replace the UAPs with a pair of UAP-AC-Lites (~£150)
  • Ditch Unifi completely and use something else

Given that I use 3 SSIDs/vLANs, I'm wondering what you fine people would do.

*Not really liking this option - as I would have to start backing up the VM rather than relying on building a new one and running an ansible configuration to get the Unifi Controller back into a working state if/when it hoses itself
