Apple Mail Keeps Crashing

As per title. Won't stay open for more than a few seconds. Running El Capitan 10.11.6

Any ideas?

That's odd.    It's happened to me a couple of times over the past few days.    In each case it was only affecting one of my folders "deleted items",  if I tried to open that then mail crashed.   I fixed it by going in to my account via webmail & deleting the last few messages.  Could something in one of the emails be causing it ?


Also on El Cap 10.11.6


Edit:  I then had to use webmail to empty the trash, as when I tried to open that it crashed as well.

Thanks, that didn't work as it wouldn't stay open long enough to do the fix but I sorted it by deleting my gmail account and recreated it

It's happened again.  By dint of using webmail to delete stuff until it stopped crashing I isolated the problem to an email from the London Review Of Books.    Do you get stuff from them as well ?
