High alcohol drinks for the Zombie Apocalypse bug out pack

Not wishing to derail the Dry January thread....   I have two bottles of Finnish Korsendorf vodka. 60% by volume

These are in plastic bottles, as they were from duty free. they are being reserved for emergencies / Zombir Apocalypse.

I also have two of their liqourice flavoured vodka, ad a more normal 37.5%

My lad brought me some over-proof rum for Christmas which is 62%
Not really a rum drinker but you certainly don't need a lot mixed in with the coke!
Would be good in a bug out pack as you could probably light a fire with it  ;D

I've had some Cavalier 151 proof rum, which I think equates to 75.5% abv.
It's weird to see an ice cube sink to the bottom of the glass (before adding copious volume of mixer).
Even when heavily diluted it always seemed to generate a hangover.

Back in the day, I had a mate who would always bring me back a bottle of Wray and Nephew when he came back from visiting his relies. Sort of stuff where you need to check that the stairs and your bedroom floor are clear before you start so you can be sure of an obstacle clear route to bed later.
This was about the time I discovered that the best handover cure known to man is the sunday morning 30 mile loop.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

If you're into rum I can thoroughly recommend Isle of Wight Distillery's HMS Victory Rum which is 57% alc. It's beautifully smooth.
There's no vibrations, but wait.

I have tried some Stroh Austrian rum, 80%. You don't drink it, just inhale...

I bought a bottle of that accidentally when coming through Stavanger airport, it's got a mighty kick

Former house-mate once brought some stuff back from Belgium which was as close to absolute alcohol as makes very little difference.  Impossible to drink neat without pulling a face worthy of a champion gurner.  It'd probably make excellent Trangia fuel.

I have a bottle of the Stroh 90%
I think even inhaling is advised against.

I remember when one of my neighbours offered me a shot of rum he'd brought back from Jamaica. Thanks, I said, and knocked it back. As that scorched the back of my throat, I watched him light the barbecue with a generous splash of the same and a match.

I was once given a bottle of "Snow Grouse", it was used for fire lighting.

I remember being offered something that I could feel evaporating into my nose and lips as I brought the glass to my mouth, one sip was sufficient to decide it was better employed in the fuel tank of my Ovlov. I think it came from Czechoslovakia

I get homemade hooch from Serbia every year in quantity because it seems everyone knows someone with a backyard still. That's of indeterminate proof. It actually tastes quite good and hasn't killed me yet (despite their reputation, the Serbs are by the far the most hospitable people I've ever met, and also the tallest, I swear some of them have to duck to avoid clouds).

My neighbour once gave me a plastic jerrycan of gin – seriously, four litres – that she'd lugged all the way from Uganda because we'd told her we liked gin. I did taste it and I think it's actually kerosine.

Ordered a dozen of these for when Dry January is over https://www.tempestbrewco.com/item/54/TempestBrewCo/Barrel-Aged-Old-Parochial-Scotch-Ale-330ml-can.html

I'll give some to my Everton supporting mate who lives in Dubai and who I meet with every Christmas in Liverpool when he is home (not 2020  :'().

The social club closest to Goodison Park where we'd put the world to rights was known as The Parochial (closed now) so it seemed appropriate.

Proof originated from proof of the strength of alcohol was that the beverage would burn - a test that was revised to see if gunpowder would burn when dowsed in the spirit, which gave a more precise figure of 57.15%.  At Uni I did drink 1OP Bundy (58%) and coke.  Like most things I drank at Uni I don't have much desire to return to it.
