Caliper brakes options?

I believe that the Raleigh Record Sprint were fitted with Weinmann 500s.  Just wondering what would be the best current option for this RRS frame - modern or otherwise?  AFAIA I don't need long reach calipers.

The front brake fitting is straight through steerer tube lower extension.  Front facing hole smaller diameter than rear.

If you want something in keeping with the look of the bike then it will have to be Campag, as per Goldcrank.  If you value function over form then 6800 or current Ultegra. Will look a bit out of place though.

OK thanks for this both.  I'll be building the frame up with a mix 'shed store cupboard' & new components - so not too worried about the look.

In which case if you want function go 6800 and later Ultegra. Truly stunning performance, and can be found cheaply. Give me a minute or two and I'll get a link

Agree completely - current Ultegra and 6800 are fantastic brakes
