Can this tyre be rescued?

A while back I had a flint p*ncture which disrupted the inner tyre casing (PaselaPT 32mm) with a few mm width. I had a couple of recurrent p*unctures, until I twigged the rough edges on the inner surface of the tyre were rubbing through the inner tube. I patched the inner surface & superglued the outer tread. Today 100metres down the road, bang (impressive). Back to fit new tyre (which fortunately I had on the shelf). Hole in the casing patch & superglue hadn't held.
Anything else I can do for a secure fix?

An actual tyre boot?

An actual tyre boot?
yes, could try that. I have some thin plastic tyre boot material in repair kit I could use - maybe duct tape in place.

Or could try a toothpaste tape? Cut it to size, and duct tape to hold it in place.

Thanks. Just finished a tube of toothpaste today - so it must be a sign this is the way to go.

Many tyre boots eventually rub through the tube, particularly if they are too stiff/ thick, hence ‘emergency tyre boot’.
The Tip Top TT05 repair kit contains a tyre repair patch (blue edged) that is flexible but doesn’t stretch like a tube patch does.

An inner tube patch won't work as a tyre boot.
The best material for making a boot is the casing from a tubular or "open tubular" because the casing is thin and supple and the tread can be peeled off.

Thanks all.
I see (from links) that I had a similar issue back in 2017, where I used a thick nylon fabric patch - not sure how long it lasted.
