The obvious answer is Kinlin XR22T - 450g. However, they’re 19mm internal and 24mm external. Is that too wide?

You can get the 26T and 31T as well deeper and weigh about 475g and 490-500g respectively.

If you want narrower and proper tubeless then DT Swiss may be your friend - R460 at 18mm internal or R440 (I think) is very light.

Edited to add as well as the RR440 you can also get the RR411 as a light rim brake rim. The RR511 is a solid 32mm deep variant.

thanks Mike. Very familiar with the dt swiss r460...as you say pretty light.  Don't know Kinlin at all, other than the seem to get rebadged a lot

They get rebadged because they work to be fair. A couple of years ago some wag asked why my wheels weighed more than some H*nt wheels that appeared to use identical components. Resisting the temptation to suggest that it was because mine were built to last, I just explained that I actually weighed my stuff…

Kinlins generally build up well. I have built up plenty of more expensive rims that were nastier to get straight.
Wheel meet again, don't know where, don't know when...

This is what I have on the blue Hallett.  They seem to be pretty unbreakable.

I have a pair of Shimano R500's that are surplus, or a pair of Exal LX 17s with Deore disc brake hubs, front dynamo.  These can be used with rim brakes as well. Th Exams have been very robust on my recumbents
