Black Bull Inn in Coniston and Druken Ducks (outside) are places you must visit if you haven't yet! Can't comment of the drinks, but the food was great.

For dinner, I had a couple of croque-monsieurs!

I've just been told that I shall be visiting the local chippy at about 7pm.

Lucky me.

Even more lucky SWMBO if I get some for her while I'm there.

I've got a piece of dough in the kitchen getting bigger and fatter and wider and ready to take over the world, so hopefully it'll be homemade pizza tonight.

And hopefully more successful than the last time where I set the cooker to 'grill' instead of 'oven' and ended up with a half cremated, half uncooked calzone.  :(

I've just polished off a plate of Chilli Chicken with rice, as written by the delectable Ching-He Huang. Big bonus points for iPlayer, without which I would not have had my first home cooked meal in weeks  ::-)

Smoked haddock chowder (with potatoes, leeks and sweetcorn) very much earlier.  Cup of tea and some Rittersport plain chocolate now.

Tescos were knocking out half price Gressingham ducks, so I bought one, jointed it, and made a curry.

Tonight, we ate here...

Veda, in Connaught Place, New Delhi.  Apparently it is on Conde Naste's Top 100 restaurants in the World, whatever that is.  Ask me tomorrow what I ate and I probably won't be able to remember.  Yes, it was Nouvelle Indian cuisine... a 2p sized waffer of crispy spinach with goat sputum etc etc.  Very disappointing, especially at the outrageous price of a tenner a head. Give me some alu tikka from a street stall anyday. Beautiful decor though, great cocktails and good fun to watch the nouveau riche of India behaving like cocks.

Some veggie sauce with Mr Sainsbury's filled pasta.  Not that special.

But for pudding, home made apple crumble, apple from our friend's garden.  Accompanied by a glass of Monbazillac. Nom.
