Tally Ho! London cycle tours

A positive contrast to http://yacf.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=54768.0

Thought about putting this in the review section but it doesn't really seem to fit any of the categories.

Myself and a couple of mates went on a Tally Ho! cycle tour of London last weekend, two hours guided riding [mostly, a bit of pushing around Traf Sq and Cov Gdn] Pashleys. Not something I would have thought of myself but a mate's wife booked it for us in order to get the house to herself for a couple of hours. Cost us a tenner via a Groupon but the actual price of 20 quid is worth it I would say if you're in a mood to pay someone to show you round a few of the highlights. Don't know how much those Boris bikes cost in the thread mentioned above but to get two hours entertainment from a guide included in the price must come close to balancing it out.

They do a bunch of different tours, this one didn't involve stopping for refreshments and ran for about two hours which was about enough.

I'd recommend it for cyclists or non cyclists alike, no strain, bikes that work, very friendly guide, spare bloke on hand to hold up traffic at junctions where required.

Only downside was that more men that women turned up and they have exactly 10 men's bikes and ten step through style girlie bikes with baskets. Not enough men bikes to go around so needless to say I went for the stepthrough affair, bit like riding a clown bike with my knees up against the bars but it just added to the fun.

Highly recommended :)

I saw them riding around in their tweeds before the royal wedding.  And we've spotted them a couple of times recently - mostly near The Mall.  Looks like fun.
Getting there...
